Polished Yemenite Shofar
with Silver Plated Grapevine
A Polished Yemenite Shofar decorated with the Star of David in silver plating with gold highlights. These shofars measure 35-37 inches | 90-95 cm along the outside of the spiral.
The Yemenite Shofar is made from the Kudo, a type of antelope, horn. The silver plating is beautifully hand applied after the shofar has been properly processed to kosher standards. This shofar is decorated with the Grapevine, a symbol in Judaism dating back to Biblical times. According to Josephus there was magnificent golden vine that hung over the inner portal of the Second Temple. The grapevine was embossed on coins and laid on mosaic floors. There is a special blessing in Judaism over the wine.
